…Customs, ANLCA agree to synergise on compliance

As Hon Iju Tony Nwabunike and the National Executive Committee (NECOM) of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Thursday paid a working visit to the Tin Can Island Command (TCIP), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the association and the TCIP Customs Command have agreed to collaborate to ensure that importers comply with the fiscal policies of the Federal Government guiding international trade.

Hon Nwabunike who was received on arrival at the command with music and dance by ANLCA members and his admirers, in his address told the Customs Area Controller, Mr. Mba Musa that the association is determined to collaborate with the Nigeria customs service to ensure it collects all the revenues due to government to help the economy get out of its current difficulties.

He complained that his members are worried over ‘multiplication of alerts’, ‘duplication of tables at the terminal and gate’ and ‘camp boys who are office assistants that are turning into informants and false whistle blowers, thereby becoming law and order unto themselves.

The highlight of the visit of the ANLCA President to the TCIP Command was the introduction of the new executives of the Tin Can Island Port Chapter of ANLCA to the Customs Area Controller of TCIP.

The Mr. Ojo Peter Akintoye led-executives were enjoined to hit the ground running and work hand in hand with the TCIP Customs Command CAC.
