Although Tinubu is yet to express his interest in running for the highest office in the land, NAN reports that the monarch says he will support him if he chooses to throw his hat in the ring.
The Olubadan was said to have expressed his support while receiving members of the Tinubu Vanguard in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, on Saturday.
Johnny Benjamin, director-general of Tinubu Vanguard, made the development known in a statement.
According to the statement, Olubadan described Tinubu as a “good man”, adding that he would consolidate on the progressive agenda of the APC and propel Nigeria to the path of economic prosperity and sustainable development.
“Tinubu is a good man and I will do everything within my power to support his candidacy for the 2023 presidential poll,” he was quoted as saying.
The director-general of Tinubu Vanguard said the members of the group visited the monarch to make him aware of their intention to deliver a Tinubu presidency in 2023 and to seek his blessing.
Benjamin said the group is committed to ensuring that the Tinubu presidential mandate is actualised.
