The attention of Zamfara State Government has been drawn to an audio clip now in circulation on social media platforms in which the author is allegedly claiming government have directed local government councils and traditional rulers and farmers to buy fertilizer at 12,000 naira per bag.

In a statement signed by Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, the Hon. Commissioner for Information, Zamfara state, the number one image maker of the state said: “The general public is hereby informed that the content of the clip is blatant lie that is baseless and unfounded. It is nothing but an attempt to smear the good image and reputation of the government of His Excellency Gov Bello Mohamed Matawalle Maradun.”

Masara said: “For the avoidance of doubt, the government of Zamfara State purchased enough fertilizer for this year’s farming season at cost and ordered its sales at 7,000 Naira per bag as part of its subsidy to the farmers. Government did not force anybody to buy the fertilizer.
