Countdown to Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will take place from 28 July to 8 August 2022 and will be the biggest sporting event ever held in the city featuring thousands of world-class athletes and over a million spectators.

Over 5054 athletes expected to partake in the games, with an estimated global television audience of 1.5 billion people, the Games will showcase Birmingham, the West Midlands and the entire country as an amazing place to live, work, study, visit and do business.

Meanwhile this is the third time United Kingdom will be hosting the games in recent past with Manchester City hosting 2002 and Glasgow City hosting it in 2014 Majority of the Commonwealth nations are expected to participate in the summer games.

Some of the sports expected to be competed for includes Athletics, Cycling, Swimming , Basketball, Boxing, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Netball and various others.

The venues to be used for the 283 events stretches from Coventry, Solihull, Royal Leamington Spa to Cannock Chase Forest, Royal Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton with Alexander Stadium being the main event venue.
