Nigeria Super Falcons have qualified for the 12th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON after defeating their rivals Lady Elephants of Ivory Coast 1-0 in the second leg of the final round of the qualifiers on Wednesday evening in Abidjan.
The Super Falcons had earlier beaten the Ivoriens 2-0 in Abuja last week to qualify with a 3-0 goals aggregate scoreline.
The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare has applauded Nigeria’s women senior football team, the Super Falcons for qualifying for the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations tournament.
Sports Minister Sunday Dare commended the girls for playing with zeal, determination, patriotism and discipline, urging them to take these attributes to the Africa Women Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco later in the year.
The Super Falcons had eliminated the Black Queens of Ghana in the earlier round.
