Chrisland schools, one of the largest privately-owned educational institutions in Nigeria, held its annual inter-house sports competition in February 2022.
According to the management, the sports competition held annually is a testament to the school’s commitment to raising global champions in sports, mahogany-decked boardrooms, and industries.
This year, Chrisland College Idimu provided the curtain-raiser for the event. Principal stakeholders in sports including Akwa Ibom State’s Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko, Olympians Ifeanyi Emmanuel Ojeli, and Agnes Osazuwa were in attendance as various houses competed for the top position.
In Chrisland College Idimu, Onidimu house took the top spot after a keen competition with Oshobiken, Ninan, and Awosika houses.
Pines House won this year’s contest ahead of Oaks, Firs, and Cedars Houses in Chrisland High School VGC. Pines house also took first place in Chrisland High School Lekki.
In Chrisland High School Ikeja, Cedars House fended off stiff competition from Oaks and Pines Houses to retain their title. It was also Cedars’ season in Chrisland High School Festac Area, as Oaks and Pines Houses settled for first and second runners-up places, respectively.
In the Nursery and Primary schools, four Houses, Lotus, Lily, Daffodil, and Iris, competed for the top prize. In Chrisland School Lekki, Iris won the Gold cup. It was a similar story in Chrisland School Ladipo Oluwole, where Iris House’s victory meant Daffodil and Lotus had to settle for second and third places on the medals’ table. But in Chrisland School Festac Area and Chrisland School Opebi, Lotus House shocked onlookers to top the table in this year’s event.
