Africa Magic, in association with MultiChoice, will host celebrity movie stars and film directors from Hollywood ahead of the awards ceremony taking place on Saturday, 14 May in Lagos.
One of the Hollywood stars expected to be in attendance is Tasha Smith.
Tasha Smith is an actor, director, producer and teacher who has been dazzling audiences behind the camera as much as she has shined on screen.
Tasha recently directed the fifth episode of the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reboot “Bel Air,” which is a reimagined version of the popular 90’s sitcom.
Her exceptional work in the acclaimed films Why Did I Get Married? and its sequel, Why Did I Get Married, Too? landed her character of “Angela” a spin-off series with Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse earned her an NAACP Image Award nomination as Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
A former comedienne, Tasha previously let her comedic credentials shine in Couples Retreat alongside Vince Vaughn and Jason Bateman before enamoring audiences as a captivating cougar in Jumping The Broom, later she became a skilled psychotherapist in the 2014 erotic thriller Addicted.” On Lee Daniels’ Empire where she breathed life into flawed family woman “Carol Hardaway” opposite Taraji P. Henson.
