Femi Otedola, billionaire businessman, says history would be made in the Nigerian energy sector with the soon-to-be inaugurated Dangote Refinery.

Otedola shared his thought on the project in a tweet on Sunday after a visit to the facility.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, May 22, 2023, inaugurate the Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest oil refinery.

The project, which is worth $19 billion, is an integrated refinery and petrochemical project.

The refinery is equipped to produce about 650,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and to generate 9500 direct jobs and 25,000 indirect jobs as well as contribute to the improvement of the country’s economy.

Ahead of the commissioning, Otedola, in the tweet, shared photos of his visit with Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, and some sections of the project.

“Countdown to the commissioning of the world’s biggest refinery tomorrow. History is made, ” Otedola tweeted.
