Entertainment Week Lagos 2023, an initiative of Livespot Foundation, concluded with more than 30 panel discussions, 80 speakers, 150 showcases, 50 masterclasses, and nearly 50 short films.
This eight-day spectacle captivated almost 10,000 attendees with its blend of insightful panels, valuable masterclasses, showcases, interactive workshops, and a diverse range of entertainment experiences. It was an unforgettable exhibition of creativity and innovation!
A truly cultural hub, Entertainment Week Lagos commenced with a premium launch party at the Livespot Entertarium on December 13, 2023. The star-studded opener drew professionals from across the creative sector including notable personalities such as Hannatu Musawa, Mo Abudu, Steve Stoute, Chioma Ude, Dr. Busola Tejumola, Titi Ogufere, Jade Osiberu, Mai Atafo, Kem Anyanwu, FK Abudu, Eku Edewor, Deji Awokoya, Sam Onyemelukwe, Banke Kuku, Tolu Ogunlesi, Kelvin Sapp, Stephen Tayo, Craze Clown, Nasboi, Kemen, Nicole Asinugo, Diana Eneje, among many others.
Reflecting on the success of this year’s edition, Deola Art Alade, the CEO of Livespot360 and Convener of Entertainment Week Lagos, expressed profound gratitude to partners, participants, panellists, and everyone who contributed to the successful second edition.
She stated; “Entertainment Week Lagos is something we will keep putting all our efforts into to empower and promote excellence within the Nigerian entertainment industry and support our talents and creatives to continue to grow, upskill, and foster valuable connections within the African entertainment market to drive sustainable progress. Entertainment Week Lagos (EWL) catalyses inspiration and impact, focusing on empowering Nigeria’s creative economy, breaking barriers, and amplifying voices. The week-long celebration witnessed thought-provoking panel sessions, tackling issues such as technology’s impact on fashion and the reimagining of the African content landscape on a global stage.
Masterclasses and workshops led by industry professionals like Jola Ayeye, FK Abudu, Mr Phisha, Adedotun Olateru-Olagbegi, E-kelly, Somto Ajuluchukwu and Malik Afegbua who delved into key areas including content creation, live event production, podcasting, artificial intelligence, the business of humour, dance, and music.
The Film Hub showcased captivating short films and animation such as “Nucleus” directed by Alex Unusual, “Little Miss” by Mike Glover, “Mystic Heist” by Kolapo Mustapha, and “The Delectable Azeezah Sama.”
Comedy Cafe featured some of Nigeria’s top content creators and comedians, including Senator, Ajebo, Calabar Chic, Nasboi, Phronesis, Dan The Humorous, Bash, and SLK Comedy. With Ali Baba, Bovi and several others in attendance.
Birthed in 2022, EWL has become a pivotal hub for creatives, providing skills, knowledge, resources, and practical experiences.
