Seplat energy board appoints Udo Udoma as chairman

The Board of Seplat Energy Plc, listed on both the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, has announced the appointment of Mr. Udoma Udo Udoma, as the new Independent Non-executive Chairman of the company.

This was disclosed by the company’s notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public; Udoma is to succeed Mr. Basil Omiyi, who will retire on March 31, 2024, according to nairametrics.

The members of the Board of Seplat, after a unanimous vote, approved the appointment of Mr. Udoma in compliance with Nigerian Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020, and is effective April 1, 2024.

Meanwhile, Seplat Energy has also announced, the appointment of Mr Bello Rabiu as the new Senior Independent Non-executive Director, effective April 1, 2024, to succeed Dr. Charles Okeahalam, who will be retiring on March 31, 2024.

The company pointed out, that such appointments, reinforced the commitment of the board to uphold its high culture of corporate governance and establish a real independent board.

Mr. Udoma is an accomplished lawyer and seasoned board administrator.
