The Barley Charity Foundation (BCF) has officially begun its annual Ramadan initiative, providing iftar meals to community members at the Egbe Central Mosque.

Over the next 30 days, the foundation aims to feed between 300 and 500 people daily. BCF’s commitment to tackling hunger within the community is evident through this Ramadan program. By providing daily iftar meals, they ensure that those in need have access to essential sustenance during this sacred time.

Speaking at the launch, Founder Chief Mrs. Adeshola Ojo, The Yeye Gbo`baniyi of Egbe Kingdom, spoke passionately about the driving force behind the initiative. “The hunger I see in our community compels me to take action and make a positive impact,” she stated.

The visionary behind the foundation, who shared her inspiration for the initiative, emphasized her strong determination to alleviate this issue and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

“This annual Iftar End of Ramadan Meal is a manifestation of our commitment to creating positive change and addressing the fundamental needs of our community,” said Chief Mrs Adeshola Ojo.

Today’s meal served approximately 350 people, creating awareness and encouraging participation for the remaining days of Ramadan. The diverse crowd included both young and old, individuals from all walks of life coming together in the spirit of community and shared faith.

Established in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation has undertaken numerous initiatives over the years. These efforts span providing palliative support to community members during the pandemic, offering assistance to the less fortunate, widows, and youth in the vicinity. Additionally, the foundation has collaborated with medical professionals to conduct free eye screenings and implemented various youth empowerment programs.

The Barley Charity Foundation’s Iftar End of Ramadan Meal has become a beacon of hope and compassion, reflecting the organization’s commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those facing hardship. The foundation looks forward to continued support from the community and hopes to inspire others to join in the spirit of giving.
