Parallex Bank opens Uyo branch

One of the newest commercial banks in Nigeria, Parallex Bank, has opened a new branch in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The bank, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the expansion to Uyo was a crucial moment in the institution’s mission to provide Nigerians with limitless banking experience, according to The Punch.

The members of the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council, headed by Governor Umo Eno and Deputy Governor Senator Akone Eyakenyi as well as Speaker of the House of Assembly, Udeme Otong, were among those present at the opening ceremony for the branch.

The Chairman of the Board of Parallex Bank, Dr Adeola Phillips, stressed the bank’s dedication to transforming the banking sector in Nigeria through strategic partnerships and customer-centric initiatives.

Dr Phillips pointed to the institution’s remarkable journey from microfinance to commercial banking, noting plans for future expansion as three new branches will be opened shortly.

She expressed gratitude for the warm reception received from the governor and his team, emphasizing the readiness to support the government on his ARISE agenda.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of Parallel Bank, Dr Olufemi Bakre, pointed out that The easy opening of an account through the Parallex Bank App
and underline the appealing benefits, including free transfers and competitive interest rates tailored for retail customers.

Bakre also commended the State Governor for his key role in facilitating Parallex Bank’s Uyo branch opening. The governor, he said, had nurtured the Parallex Bank’s idea in Uyo and supported it.

Governor Eno emphasised the importance of cooperation in driving economic empowerment and growth for small and medium-sized enterprises, by committing the government to support Parallex Bank activities within the country.

He emphasised the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investments and business development in the State.
