Ibrahim ‘Primeboy’ Owodunni, a childhood friend of Mohbad, has filed a petition against Omowunmi, the late singer’s widow.

The fast-rising singer died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.

On September 21, Mohbad’s body was exhumed by the police. An autopsy was carried out that same day after which the police announced that they were awaiting the results.

Primeboy had been asked to visit the police every week since the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death started.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Primeboy shared a blurry copy of the petition filed against Omowunmi.

In the petition filed through his lawyers and to the Nigerian police, he accused Omowunmi of false allegations and threats to his life.

He also claimed that she was “using men of the state criminal investigation department (SCID) to intimidate and coerce me into making false confession” of causing grievous bodily harm to the late singer.

In the accompanying caption, he asked the singer’s wife to tell the world the “truth about Mohbad’s death”.

“I told you to stop mentioning my name but you did not stop,” he wrote.

“Now is the time to tell the whole world the truth you said you know about what killed your boyfriend (Mohbad). Or you face the music.”

Omowunmi had earlier alleged that Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s dad, is working with the people who bullied her husband till his death.
