A Federal High Court in Lagos, presided over by Justice Akintayo Aluko today, granted National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to declare four suspected drug traffickers wanted.
The suspects are: Olarenwaju Ramon Abdulai a.k.a, Alhaji Loyingbo, Olufemi Akande Abioye a.k.a ‘Igbono’ ‘Baba Eje’, Femi Iwaya, ‘Ade Iwaya’ and Alate Kafy Bakare Bukki of KaffyTravels.
The wanted suspected drug traffickers were said to be allies to an alleged drug dealer, Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a.k.a. Barryshine, who is being tried before the court on drug trafficking related offences.
The order for arrest of the suspected drug traffickers granted by the court, was sequel to an ex-parte application filed and argued by counsel to the NDLEA, Mr Abu Ibrahim.
According to the NDLEA lawyer, the four suspects, who are on the run, were said to have been implicated in drug trafficking cases involving an alleged Lagos based drug lord Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a k. a Barryshine.
In the ex-parte application, the anti-narcotic agency sought for a order of the court declaring the suspects, Olarenwaju Ramon Abdulai, Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye, Olumuyiwa Olufemi Ilori, and Alate Kafy Bakare Bukki of Kaffy Travels wanted by a public notice with their photographs conspicuously displayed for their involvement in drug trafficking activities with Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a.k.a ‘Barryshine’ ,’Ejeoto’.
The NDLEA said the ground for seeking an order declaring the suspects wanted, is because Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a.k.a. ‘Barryshine’ “Ejeoto’, has been charged with the offences of conspiracy and unlawful exportation of Narcotic drugs to Saudi Arabia and Doha, United Arab Emirates.
The NDLEA said that on the 13th of November 2022 one Ajisegiri Kehinde Sidika was arrested at MMIA Ikeja-Lagos during the outward clearance of Qatar Airways flight to Saudi Arabia with 400 Grams of Cocaine concealed in foot wears.
That in the course of investigation into the said arrest of Ajisegiri Kehinde Sidika, Olarenwaju Ramon Abdulai a.k.a. ‘Alhaji Loyingbo’ and Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a.k.a. ‘Barryshine’ ‘Ejeoto’ were implicated in the said arrest.
That one Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye a.k.a. ‘Igbono’, ‘Baba Eje’, ‘Femi Iwaya’, ‘Ade Iwaya’, was also implicated as the middle person between the courier and the duo Olarenju Ramon Abdulai a.k.a ‘Alhaji Loyingbo’ and Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a.k.a ‘Barryshine’ ‘Ejeoto’.
The applicant further stated that on the 24th November, 2022, one Lawal Lateef Oyenuga, was arrested at MMIA Ikeja-Lagos during outward clearance of Ethiopian Airlines flight to Saudi Arabia with 400Grams of Cocaine concealed in foot wears.
That in the course of investigation into the said arrest of Lawal Lateef Oyenuga, Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a.k.a. ‘Barryshine’ ‘Ejeoto’ was again implicated as the sponsor/financier of the drug trafficking trip. And that one Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye a.k.a. ‘lgbono’, ‘Baba Eje’, ‘Femi Iwaya’, ‘Ade lwaya’, was also implicated as the middle person between the courier Lawal Lateef Oyenuga and Suleiman Aremu Ganiu a.k.a.
‘Barryshine’ ‘Ejeoto’.
The anti-narcotic agency also stated that on the 21st June 2024 one Aikhomoun Daniel was arrested at MMIA lkeja-Lagos during outward clearance of Qatar Airways flight to Doha with 1. 022 Kilogrames of Cocaine ingested by the suspect.
It also added that in the course of investigation into the said arrest of Aiknhomoun Daniel, Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye a.k.a. ‘Igbono’, ‘Baba Eje’, “Femi lwaya’, ‘Ade Iwaya’, and SULEIMAN AREMU GANIVU a.k.a. “Barryshine’ ‘Ejeoto’ and were again implicated as being the middle person and the sponsor/financier of the drug trafficking trip respectively.
“That on the same date of 21st June 2024 and on the same flight with Aikhomoun Daniel another drug courier by name Ayigoro Waheed Omobolaji was arrested at MMIA Ikeja-Lagos during outward clearance of Qatar Airways flight to Doha with 662Grams of Cocaine ingested by the suspect.
“In the course of investigation into the said arrest of Ayigoro Waheed Omobolaji, the duo of Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye a.k.a. ‘Igbono’, ‘Baba Eje’, ‘Femi lwaya’, ‘Ade lwaya’, and Olumuyiwa Olufemi Ilori a.k.a. ‘Murphy’ were implicated as the middle persons and recruiters of the drug courier Aygoro Omobolaji for Suleiman Aremu Ganiu.
Meanwhile, the scheduled trial of Suleiman Aremu Ganiu, a k.a. Barryshine, could not go on today as the prosecutor, Mr Abu Ibrahim told justice Akintayo Aluko, that the NDLEA received a bundle of documents yesterday on Aremu statement of accounts.
Abu stated that it would be fair to examined and serve the documents on the defendant for the purpose of fair hearing.
He thereafter asked the court for a short adjournment.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr Dennis Warri and Mrs Kate Igbo did not oppose the application.
Consequently Justice Akintayo Aluko adjourned the case for trail till March 28, 2025 .
