Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and members of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) have awarded a fourth dual carriageway, namely, the Ekwulobia to Nnobi Dualisation Road Project.

This completes the linking of the four major Anambra cities by dual carriageways, thereby completing the beltway to permit easy flow of traffic around the state.

According to the Commissioner of Information, Law Mefor, the decision was reached at the 14th ANSEC meeting, held at the new government house, known as the Light House, Awka, on 14th July 2025, where several important decisions were made.

At the meeting, ANSEC also reviewed and approved the progress report for the 2024 Business Enabling Reforms Action Plan (BERAP). As part of the State Action on Business Enabling Reform (SABER) Programme, the state commits each year to implementing reforms aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business.

Recently, the governor commissioned the Solution Market and Park in Ekwulobia, with free stalls and parking spaces allocated to the people.

Through the project, Governor Soludo aims to transform the area by addressing the chaotic conditions on the highways and enhancing the overall aesthetics and functionality of the Ekwulobia flyover.

The new open stalls and park, which features a park and shop, solar-powered light, pipe-borne water, a relaxation centre, and conveniences, are designed to solve traffic bottlenecks around Ekwulobia, a crucial junction that has been transformed into a world-class flyover, plagued by heavy vehicular and foot traffic.

By building a conducive space for commercial activities, the governor aims to discontinue commercial bus services at the Ekwulobia flyover, thereby streamlining traffic flow and reducing the daily gridlock that has affected the area.

To further support petty traders, stalls within the Solution Market have been allocated to vendors freely, at no cost. This compassionate and empathetic gesture not only encourages small business owners but also ensures a conducive environment that benefits both the urban centre and its visitors.
