His reason is said to be as a result of an embarrassing misconduct of the police officers in a viral video, who went to arrest one Ms Mercy Attababa, a student of Lagos State University (LASU.)

AIG Fayoadr was said to have taken the stringent actions against the police officers on Monday 21st July 2025, after meeting with the female student and her landlord, Mr Emeka Okoye, students representatives, as well as officials of LASU.

Her landlord was said to have sent a petition against the student to Zone 2. The petition was later.foind out to be misleading

We reliably learnt that, the AIG summoned the student and her landlord to report to his office on Monday, after watching the viral embarrassing video.

Dependable source close to the AIG disclosed that, “the AIG was not aware of the petition from the landlord, so he could not have approved such a petition involving a landlord and a tenant. Such petition should not have come to a Zone. It’s a matter a CP can handle, that was why he referred the case to Lagos State CP for further investigations.'”

Our source also disclosed that AIG Fayoade, has subsequently disbanded the Unit and given the leader of the Unit a written query.”

We further learnt that, three other police officers who exhibited tyranny in the video “have been placed on suspension and are currently undergoing Orderly Room Trial.

Our source also hinted that, “they may be dismissed or get thier ranks reduced.” Their punishment will be based on the gravity of offence established by those trying them.’
