On Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, the Kemi Irinoye Foundation hosted the second edition of ‘The Extraordinary Woman Conference’ at the Daylan Event Centre, Eleyele, Ibadan. Themed “Broken Not Shattered: Intentional Living,” the inspiring event drew an impressive attendance of over a thousand women from different walks of life.
The conference featured renowned speakers who addressed issues of brokenness, healing, and purposeful living. Among them was Prof. Omolola Irinoye, Vice Chancellor of Achievers University and the first female Professor of Nursing to become a Vice Chancellor in Nigeria, who delivered a heartfelt session on “Moving on From Brokenness,” inspiring women to rise above challenges and embrace new beginnings.
Kemi Irinoye, Executive Director of KEA Group and convener of the conference, spoke on “Brokenness and Redemption: The Art of Kintsugi,” drawing parallels between the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold and the journey of women finding beauty in their scars.
Marriage counselor and relationship coach Mrs. Adetutu Oshofowora took the audience through the practical steps of mending broken relationships, emphasizing forgiveness, communication, and intentional growth.
The event was graced by notable personalities, including Dr. Laura Ade, COO of Redeemer’s Health Village, Pastor Adeola Eboda, Co-Senior Pastor of Harvesthouse Christian Center, and Ms. Lara Tunbosun, a renowned writer and wordsmith.
A major highlight of the conference was a robust panel session featuring experts such as Dr. Alero Adegbolagun, Lead Psychiatrist at the University Health Services, Chioma Fakorede, a Mental Health Advocate, and Ms. Oluwagbemisola Zion-O’yemi, an Educationist, Programme Manager and State Coordinator at Berachah Children’s Organization. The panelists discussed the conference theme in depth, providing practical insights while women in attendance asked questions and shared their personal experiences.
Beyond the speeches and panel discussions, the women had highly interactive breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and numerous gift items were distributed to encourage attendees, making the day both impactful and memorable.
Speaking after the conference, participants described the experience as life-changing and a turning point, with many commending the Foundation for creating a platform that nurtures and empowers women.
The Extraordinary Woman Conference once again lived up to its vision of empowering women to embrace their journeys, rise above brokenness, and live with intention.
