The Main Organizing Committee (MOC) of the 9th National Youth Games has officially released the list of states participating in the football event. The competition, which promises to showcase the best of young Nigerian football talent, will feature teams in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.
Thirteen states will compete for glory in the boys’ football event, Delta State the host will be joined by 2 representatives from the 6 geographical zones. Led by Abia State, Enugu, Adamawa State, Yobe, Akwa Ibom State, Bayelsa State, Kaduna State, Kano State, Lagos State, Oyo Nasarawa State and Plateau State.
While the girls’ category will see six states battle for the gold medal again we have the host, Delta leading Abia State, Bayelsa State, Edo State, Lagos State, and Ogun State in the battle for the top prize.
Meanwhile, the technical meeting for the event will be held this evening by 6:00 pm at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
In preparation for the kick-off of football event of the youth games, the draws and guidelines for the event will be confirmed at the meeting.
The football tournament remains one of the most anticipated highlights of the National Youth Games, providing a platform for young talents to shine and potentially launch their careers on the national stage with the future Eagles platform.
