Kano state pilgrims board fix deadline for 50% Hajj seat remittance

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed Oct. 8 as deadline for the remittance of 50 per cent of the state’s Hajj seat allocation for the 2026 pilgrimage.

The Director-General of the board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u, made this known in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi in Kano.

The directive, the board said followed a circular from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), mandating states to remit half of their seat allocations on or before the date.

“Kano was allocated 5,684 seats for  the Hajj exercise”,he said.

He urged intending pilgrims to process their Hajj drafts without delay to ensure the state retained its full allocation.

The director-general said Dec. 31, remains the deadline for payment of  full Hajj fare.

Earlier, the Chairman of the board, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, prayed for divine support to enable the board meet the directive.

He appealed to stakeholders to redouble their efforts toward meeting the target.
