Mrs Soludo, who is also the founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, made the call in a statement to mark the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child, celebrated every Oct. 11.
She described girls as valuable assets whose unique qualities and potential should be nurtured and protected, saying they play a vital role in shaping society’s future.
“Girls are treasures, unique, intelligent, rare, and beautiful.
“They are changemakers, great managers, and future leaders. Any society that desires growth must invest in protecting and empowering them,” she stated.
Soludo highlighted several gender-inclusive policies of the Gov. Chukwuma Soludo-led administration, including free antenatal and delivery services, caesarean sections inclusive, and the free education programme in public schools.
She said those initiatives reflected the government’s deep commitment to building a supportive, inclusive system that gave every child, especially the girl-child, an equal chance to succeed and thrive.
“For every child in Anambra, we understand and support their dreams.
“For every girl-child, we do even more, because being a girl means being super special,” she added.
While congratulating girls in Anambra and across the globe, Soludo urged them to stay confident, determined, and focused on their dreams, regardless of challenges they might face.
“Happy International Day of the Girl-Child to all the phenomenal girls in Anambra and beyond.
“You are changemakers, never forget that, ”she said.
