Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa of the Federal High Court, Lagos has fixed November 7, 2025 for the arraignment of three ex-employees of the broadcast outfit facing prosecution for alleged acts against the country’s criminal laws and defrauding their former employer.

The court fixed the date on Thursday, October 23, 2025, following the failure of the defendants: Akakan Victor Mkpong Sam, Blessing Sunday Ekerete and Anthony Babafemi Raji, to appear before it for their arraignment.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, had filed a five-count charge against the defendants.

In the charge marked FHC/L/530/2025, count one to four of the five-count charge had the names of the three as defendants and charges bordered on fraud, conspiracy and money laundering.

However, count five only named Anthony Babafemi Raji and it alleged: “That you BABAFEMI RAJI ‘M’ sometimes in 2024 in Nigeria within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did knowingly or intentionally transmit or cause the transmission of messages via internet such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Youtube, X’ (formerly Twitter) etc., the medium with which you bully, threaten or harass DR. LARRY IZAMOJE ‘M’ which put him in fear of death, violence or bodily harm and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 24(2)(3)(a & b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended) 2024. Dated this and day of July, 2025.”

S.A. Ogala appeared for the prosecution while neither the defendants nor their counsel was present in court.

The prosecutor, Ogala, informed the court that the defendants have been duly served but the affidavit to that effect was yet to be in the court’s file.

He promised to do the needful regarding the filing of an affidavit of service before the adjourned date to prove that the defendants have been served.

It will be the basis for an application for warrant of arrests if they fail to appear when the matter is again called.

Ogala prayed the court for a short adjournment and Justice Lewis-Allagoa granted it and adjourned the case to November 7, 2025. [Prompt News]
