He said that the national body of AFAN had embarked on digital registration of its members nationwide, adding that the Osun chapter is billed to begin its registration in the coming weeks, and a date announced, after modalities had been put in place

According to him, the registration will afford farmers the opportunity to benefit from agricultural programmes made available to the association by government.

He noted that in line with AFAN’s commitment to the well being of farmers nationwide, a central information unit with a toll free line, had been created for farmers to make findings and complaints where nessaary.

Musefiu, urged farmers to take advantage of the registration, to be part of the association, so as to  benefit from the various opportunities provided by government and AFAN.

The AFAN boss also appealed to the state government, to give due attention to farming and farmers, so as to encourage more people, especially youths to take up farming.

He harped on the importance of food sufficiency in the state and region, adding that there could be severe food shortage if supplies from other regions were stopped.

The chairman, consequently, urged the state government to ensure that only real and practicing farmers are beneficiaries of its agriculture programmes.
