The Loja of Lukosi Land, Ile‑Ife, Osun, Oba Abdul‑Lateef Awojobi, has warned against land grabbing by chiefs and fellow traditional rulers in the town.

Oba Awojobi said this during a visit to villages under his domain in Ife‑South Local Government Area of Osun.

The traditional ruler said that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, had instructed him and other newly‑coronated traditional rulers to transform their domains.

Oba Awojobi said that the Ooni warned all newly‑coronated traditional rulers in the town not to involve themselves in the sale of land or the forceful takeover of property that does not belong to them.

The traditional ruler said he was on a visitation to all the towns and villages under his domain to seek collaboration in bringing social amenities and infrastructural development to the area.

Oba Awojobi said his visit was also to learn about the challenges residents in his domain were facing and possible ways out.

The traditional ruler solicited the support of all residents within his domain for development.

Oba Awojobi thereafter donated solar lights and public‑address systems to the villages visited.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the villages visited by the traditional ruler included Aba Lukosi, Oja, and Awowole.

Oba Awojobi also paid a courtesy visit to the Olu of Kajola, Oba Akinola Fadoyin, where both royal fathers stressed the importance of peace, love, and unity and agreed to work together for the development of the area.
