PalmPay Ltd., a Financial Technology (Fintech) platform, on Tuesday inaugurated an anti-fraud campaign in Kano, aimed at creating a healthy financial ecosystem and eliminating fraudulent activities on its platform.

The Managing Director of PalmPay Ltd., Mr Chika Reginald-Nwosu, stated that the campaign was designed to protect customers from falling victim to fraudsters and to ensure that users feel secure while using the platform.

He advised customers to be cautious when receiving links on their phones or social media, and to verify any suspicious links before clicking on them.

Reginald-Nwosu also warned against sharing personal numbers or information with unknown individuals.

He noted that the company had over two million ATM cards in circulation, and customers could use these cards to make withdrawals at any commercial bank’s ATM machines across the country.

“PalmPay is committed to eliminating fraud on its platform and working to bring the incidence of fraud to zero level.

“This initiative is part of PalmPay’s efforts to promote a safe and secure digital payment environment in Nigeria,” he said.

ThemomentNG reports that the campaign included awareness walk through key locations in Kano, including Murtala Muhammad way, Bata, Court Road, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, and Civic Centre among others, to sensitise the public about the risks of fraud.
