Nigerian skit maker, Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus or Mr Funny, has confirmed rumours of his crashed marriage.

However, in 2024, the marriage became a topic of discussion following rumours of their marital issues as Sabinus was accused of domestic violence, cheating and being an absentee father to their daughter.

During a TikTok live stream session with his colleague, Carter Efe, Sabinus clarified that he was not married, stressing that his marriage ended peacefully.

The skit maker added that he and his daughter’s mother remain on good terms.

He said, “I’m not married. For those carrying rumours, I am not married. My marriage ended peacefully. The mum and I are good. My daughter is okay, and she is doing fine.”

Meanwhile, Sabinus recently revealed that his father was initially furious about his decision to become a comedian.

In an interview with media personality, VJ Adams, Sabinus explained that his father wanted him to be a lawyer, but he eventually settled for Linguistics and Communication Studies after failing to secure admission to law school.

Sabinus said he discovered his comedy talent while studying at the University of Port Harcourt and began making skits.

The comedian said that when his dad found out that he was a skit maker, he regretted funding his education and described the profession as a stupid business.

Sabinus added that his dad eventually gave him his blessing after he started gifting him money from his comedy proceeds.
