Nkwocha said Shettima would be expected to join African leaders and dignitaries at the inauguration on Monday at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan.

“Ouattara won re-election on Oct. 25, securing another term to lead the West African nation with strong diplomatic ties with Nigeria.

“At the inauguration, Shettima will reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to democratic values and constitutional governance.

“Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire collaborate on security, trade, and development through ECOWAS and the African Union, backed by a Bi-National Commission and agreements on human trafficking, agriculture, and digital economy.”

The Vice-President is expected back in Abuja after the inauguration.
