The Action Alliance (AA) in Osun State on Monday elected Prince Olaniyi Fadahunsi as the party’s governorship candidate for the 8 August governorship election in the state.
Fadahunsi polled a total of 74 votes at the party’s primary election held at the premises of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) press centre, Osogbo.
The delegates, drawn from the 30 local government areas of the state, unanimously voted for Fadahunsi at the election, which was attended by members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, including the National Secretary, Hon Miller Ogwu.
In his acceptance speech, the governorship candidate expressed optimism that he would win the next governorship election in the state, saying that the party is prepared to right all the wrongs of the current administration in the state.
He said he is prepared to make a difference in the governance of the state, as all the cardinal programmes of his party, the Action Alliance, will be implemented if he is elected governor.
Fadahunsi, who hails from Ota‑Aiyegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of the state, assured his teeming supporters of an all‑inclusive government if he eventually becomes the next governor of the state.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the party for the confidence reposed in him, promising not to undermine that confidence.
