The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has concluded plans to confer the prestigious traditional title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland on Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to a flyer sighted by Lagos Reporters, the installation ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, December 21, 2025, in Oyo town.
In the same ceremony, former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, is also expected to be honoured with the traditional title of Obaloyin of Yorubaland.
The forthcoming event is significant as it will mark the first set of traditional titles to be awarded by Oba Owoade since his enthronement as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo in April 2025.
Traditional rulers, political leaders, cultural enthusiasts and dignitaries from across Yorubaland and beyond are expected to grace the occasion, which is anticipated to further reinforce cultural heritage and unity within the Yoruba race.
Lagos Reporters will continue to monitor developments surrounding the installation ceremony and provide timely, accurate updates to the public.
