NAF to graduate 1, 296 recruits on Saturday

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), says no fewer than 1,296 recruits of the Basic Military Training Course 45/2024 will be graduated on Saturday in Kaduna.

The Guest of Honour at the Beating of the Retreat, AVM. Ahmad Shinkafi said the  ceremony marks the formal conclusion of training activities for the recruits of Basic Military Training Course 45/2024.

He said the occasion not only celebrates their achievements but also recognises and rewards the hard work of those Squadrons and individuals who have distinguished themselves throughout this demanding training period.

Shinkafi congratulated  the  recruits for reaching the important milestone in their military journey

He said, ” Your training has been rigorous, blending academic instruction with intensive outdoor and tactical exercises.

“This is particularly significant as the Nigerian Air Force continues to incorporate contemporary asymmetric warfare into its training syllabus, while also enhancing the technical competencies vital for a modern air power service.”

He said as their Passing Out Parade approaches,.they should strive to stay resolute.

Shinkafi added that the period was a true test of character and discipline.

“I have confidence that the values you have imbibed will guide you through this final stretch.

“Stay focused and uphold the standards that brought you this far.

Always remember your loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the importance of subordinating yourselves to civil authority,” he added.

The News Agency of (NAN) reports that One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of prizes to outstanding squadrons and individuals who have excelled in various academic and competitive activities during training.

This aligned with the Nigerian Air Force’s core principle of valuing excellence.

He said the excellence in performance leads to recognition and rewards.

Shinkafi added, “As members of the Nigerian Air Force, your commitment to these values is essential to effectively fulfilling our constitutional role of defending Nigeria’s national interests.”

He explained that this beating of the retreat was a way to celebrate their achievements and motivate them as they prepared to head into the field.

“As you leave the training ground, embody the values of the Military Training Centre in both word and action.

‘I congratulate those receiving prizes today, especially the champion squadron for your exceptional performance in multiple activities.

 “For those who did not win a prize this evening, remember that reaching this point in your training is already an accomplishment in itself.

Your journey in the Nigerian Air Force is just beginning,” he continued

Shinkafi commended the Commandant of the Military Training Centre, saying, “what we have witnessed today reflects your leadership and commitment to service excellence.

I commend your team of instructors for their tireless efforts in molding these recruits into disciplined airmen and airwomen.
