President Bola Tinubu left Lagos on Sunday for Europe, extending his end-of-year break while preparing for an official visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

The trip follows an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for Tinubu to attend the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit in early January.

The weeklong event gathers leaders from government, business, and society to advance sustainable development.

Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the summit, according to a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
