Several terrorists were neutralised after the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out precision strikes on an enclave and an improvised explosive device (IED) factory in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The operations took place on December 28 and targeted two locations — Turba Hill, identified as a major bandit hideout, and the camp of Kachalla Dogo Sule, described as a key centre for IED production and operations in the state.

NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame said on Monday that the strikes followed credible, multi-source intelligence confirming the presence and activities of terrorists in the areas.

He explained that the first operation focused on Turba Hill, where surveillance detected significant movement and a zinc-roofed structure believed to be central to the group’s activities.

The facility was destroyed after a direct hit.

The second mission targeted the Kachalla Dogo Sule camp, which intelligence linked to recent IED attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis.

The strike reportedly ignited multiple fires, destroying active structures and disrupting the terrorists’ ability to produce and deploy explosives.

Ejodame said the operations dealt a major blow to terrorist networks in Zamfara, significantly weakening their IED capabilities.
