The police on Wednesday arraigned two friends: Ibrahim Inuolaji, 33 and Toheeb Olajide, 33, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan for allegedly attempting to steal.
The duo, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy, attempt to steal and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The Prosecutor, Insp Elisha Tellang, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Dec. 30 at about 6.00 p.m. at Soka area of Ibadan.
Tellang said that the defendants attempted to steal what was still unknown at the aforementioned area.
He said that the duo conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by engaging in such acts.
The offences, according to him, contravened provisions of Sections 516, 509 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Moyosore Atanda, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
Atanda adjourned the case till Jan. 20, 2026 for hearing.
