Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken to the press as he aims to take on Chelsea this weekend.

City have now fallen four points behind league leaders Arsenal after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Sunderland on Thursday night. The encouraging news for Guardiola is that he will face Chelsea interim boss Calum McFarlane in what is his first professional game in charge.

Chelsea have lost an incredible manager

McFarlane steps in for the sacked Enzo Maresca, who Guardiola first touched upon, with the Italian also being tipped to be his replacement in the near future.

“All I can say is that from my point of view, Chelsea have lost an incredible manager and an incredible person. It’s a decision from the Chelsea hierarchy, so I’ve nothing to say. How lucky I am in the club where I am. My club is extraordinary.

“You wanna fire me? My salary is so high so I have one more year.”

On being replaced by Maresca: “No idea. I’m pretty sure you have more info than me.

“How can I give you an update about an opinion that is just an opinion and a rumour? I’m not going to answer that.”
