Akor Adams has rejoined the Super Eagles camp after receiving clearance from team officials to visit his mother, who is currently hospitalised in Fès, Morocco.
ThemomentNG reports that the forward’s mother fell ill on the eve of Nigeria’s Round of 16 clash against Mozambique’s Mambas at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, forcing her to miss the match at the stadium.
Akor’s parents are in Fès to support him during the tournament, but the 25-year-old disclosed after the game that his mother was unable to attend due to her condition.
Confirming his return, Super Eagles team administrator Dayo Enebi Achor said the striker was granted brief permission to see his mother and promptly rejoined the squad.
“He took permission to go and see his mother, who was hospitalised here in Fès, and returned in less than an hour,” Achor told thenff.com.
Adams is now back in camp with his teammates as the Super Eagles continue preparations for their next fixture against Algeria in the quarter finals.
