The registration was conducted by the Ward Secretary, Prince Obinna Opara, while the Ward Chairman, Chief Alex Ahamuefula, presented the membership card to the former governor.

Speaking shortly after his registration, Ihedioha said his decision to join the ADC was deliberate and anchored on the party’s principles of accountability, clear values and service to the people.

According to him, both Nigeria and Imo State require leadership that prioritises public interest and responsive governance.

“Our people want leadership that listens, serves, and puts the common good above personal interest. I am convinced that the ADC provides a credible platform to pursue these goals,” he said.

The former governor added that his choice to register at the ward level underscored his commitment to grassroots politics and inclusive participation.

The registration ceremony was witnessed by party leaders, stakeholders and community figures, including Evangelist Dr Obi Nwaigwe, Mayor of Mbutu, and Hon Jonathan Egbule, Chairman of Aboh-Mbaise Local Government Area.

National officials of the ADC present included the party’s National Vice Chairman (South-East), Sir Bon Unachukwu; Deputy Diaspora Coordinator, Maigari Bello Kasimu; and Uko Nkole, Coordinator of the Nigerian Former Legislators Forum.

Unachukwu described Ihedioha’s entry into the ADC as a major boost to the party’s profile in the South-East and across the country.

“The ADC is pleased to welcome a former governor and experienced public servant whose entry will strengthen the party’s appeal,” he said.

The Imo State Chairman of the ADC, Prof James Okoroma, led members of the State Executive Committee to receive Ihedioha and witness the registration.

Welcoming him on behalf of the party, Okoroma said the former governor’s decision had strengthened the ADC in Imo State and reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy and grassroots mobilisation.
