The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced the appointment of Wola Joseph-Condotti as its interim chief executive officer (CEO).
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Babatunde Lasaki, the company’s spokesperson, EKEDC said Joseph-Condotti succeeds Rekhiat Momoh, who has stepped down from her role as CEO.
The statement noted that Joseph-Condotti’s appointment takes effect immediately, reflecting the “board’s confidence in her leadership capability, deep institutional knowledge, and clear focus on operational continuity, growth, and stakeholder satisfaction”.
EKEDC explained that the appointment forms part of a broader leadership transition following the takeover of its board by Transgrid Enerco.
“The previous board by the previous majority shareholder, West Power and Gas Limited (WPG) led by Chairman Dere Otubu resigned today and gave way to the new board headed by Engr. (Dr.) Olubunmi Peters as Chairman, Prof. George Nwangwu, Faruk Aliyu, Kolapo Joseph and Rasheed Olaoluwa, while Ayo Gbeleyi remains as the Director representing the BPE on the board,” the statement said.
The electricity distribution company added that Momoh’s tenure as CEO was characterised by notable contributions to EKEDC’s operational growth and improvements in service delivery across its franchise areas.
Before her appointment, Joseph-Condotti served as group managing director and CEO of West Power & Gas Limited, EKEDC’s former parent company.
She had also previously worked at EKEDC as its pioneer chief, legal and company secretariat, and later held key roles including head of regulatory compliance as well as chief human resources and administration officer.
Joseph-Condotti holds a law degree from the University of Ibadan, a master of law (LLM) from Harvard Law School, and a master of business administration (MBA) from INSEAD Business School.
