President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates from the list of 68 nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate in December.

The approval was contained in a State House press release issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

France, US, UK postings confirmed

According to the release, President Tinubu confirmed Ambassador Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to France.

He also approved the posting of Colonel Lateef Are as the ambassador-designate to the United States of America.

In addition, Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, was confirmed as the high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

Former Kebbi governor heads to Turkey

Also approved is the posting of Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Turkey.

The appointment comes ahead of President Tinubu’s scheduled state visit to Turkey next week.

Foreign Affairs Ministry directed to act

In a memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President directed the ministry to formally notify the governments of the four countries of the appointments, in line with established diplomatic procedures.
