Chrissy Teigen has revealed that maintaining a sense of mystery around certain personal habits has played a role in keeping her marriage to singer John Legend strong for 12 years.

Speaking to E! News at a Netflix event on Tuesday, the model and cookbook author said, “For all he knows, I have never farted or p+oped.”

The 40-year-old explained that preserving attraction in small ways is important in a long-term relationship. “You got to keep the sexy and preserve the sexy in a little bit of ways. I won’t say that John necessarily does that all the time, but I make sure that I do,” she added.

Teigen and Legend, who are parents of four, renewed their vows in Italy in 2023 during a star-studded ceremony marking their 10th wedding anniversary.

Reflecting on her views about marriage, Teigen recalled advice she shared in 2018 while raising their daughter Luna and preparing for the birth of their son Milo. She emphasized the importance of partnership, saying, “I think it’s really important to be complete partners in crime.”

She added that couples should maintain an “us against the world” mindset, even after having children. “Never forget your relationship as partners and lovers, that’s so important,” she said.

Teigen also noted that teamwork is crucial in parenting, stressing the need for unity when facing challenges. “We created this thing and we’re going to solve it together,” she said.

According to her, making an effort for one’s partner remains essential, even during difficult moments. “Sometimes I don’t want to make John feel good and I’m sure he has the same with me, but it’s my keen advice to do it anyway.”
