This new places the pump price at about N839 per litre at MRS filling stations nationwide.

The refinery explained that the adjustment followed the return to normal market conditions after the holiday period, when special support measures were put in place to reduce pressure on consumers.

It said the earlier price cut was temporary and aimed at helping Nigerians cope with high spending during the celebrations.

According to the refinery, this is the second time it has taken steps during festive periods to ease the burden on the public.

In 2024, it helped to cover logistics costs, while in 2025 it lowered petrol prices to calm the market and make fuel more affordable.

The company, however, expressed concern that many filling stations failed to reflect the reduced prices at the pump during the intervention period, which limited the benefits for motorists and households.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery restated its commitment to steady fuel supply and a balanced market, adding that it continues to work toward price stability and energy security for the country.
