The Police Service Commission (PSC) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have announced a two-week extension for the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 constables.

According to the commission’s spokesman, Torty Njoku, over 400,000 applications have been received since the recruitment portal opened on December 15, 2025. The new closing date for submissions is now February 8, 2026.

The extension follows a review that revealed significant disparities in applications across states. While states such as Adamawa, Benue, and Kaduna have recorded high numbers of applicants, Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Anambra have notably lower participation.

The PSC said the move aims to ensure equitable representation nationwide. Eligible Nigerians, particularly from states with fewer applications, are being strongly encouraged to apply through the official portal
