The National Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh, has resigned from office.
A source close to the former chairman confirmed the development on Monday night, noting that the resignation was made public by Independent Hajj reporters via its official Facebook page.
The source explained that Professor Saleh’s decision was taken after a careful personal reflection and was not connected to any internal crisis, pressure, or boardroom disagreement within the commission.
According to the source, the former NAHCON chairman opted to step aside in what he described as the best interest of the commission, having contributed to strengthening corporate governance and institutional stability during his tenure.
As of the time of filing this report, NAHCON had yet to release an official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding his resignation.
