PDP in Oyo State has declared total loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde, saying it will follow him to any political party he chooses ahead of the 2027 elections.
State PDP Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, said the party remains united behind Makinde, describing him as the undisputed leader of the PDP in the state. “Wherever he goes, we will follow him. PDP is one in Oyo,” he said.
The statement comes amid an invitation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Makinde to join its ranks. ADC Chairman in Oyo, Yinka Olona, said the party’s doors are open but insisted no individual can hijack the party, stressing strict adherence to internal democracy.
Olona also described the 2027 elections as a battle between Nigerians and the old political order.
