Sen. Ned Nwoko (APC-Delta) has distributed bags of rice to Anioma indigenes resident in Abuja as part of efforts to support them during the Lenten and Ramadan fasting season.

The distribution exercise, which was held in Abuja, brought together representatives of Anioma communities across the 94 wards and nine local government areas that make up the Delta North Senatorial District.

Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District while handing over the bags of rice said that the gesture was a deliberate intervention to cushion the effects of the current economic realities, particularly during the solemn spiritual period of Lent and Ramadan.

Represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Chiedu Abili, the lawmaker also encouraged the Anioma indigenes in Abuja to remain steadfast and united.

He urged them to continue to support the collective aspiration for the creation of Anioma State as well as the administration of President Bola Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also emphasised the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participating in the ongoing political process as preparations for future elections gradually gather momentum.

”As the 2027 general elections gradually gather momentum, it is imperative that we get ready to carry out our civic responsibilities of voting for our leaders.

“We can only do this if we have our Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). So I encourage all of us to obtain our PVCs.”

Responding, Chief Luke Enelichi, President General, Izu Anioma, Abuja expressed deep appreciation to Nwoko for what he described as a thoughtful and timely intervention.

He noted that the gesture was particularly meaningful given the spiritual significance of the season.

He prayed for continued strength, wisdom and good health for the lawmaker.

According to him, Nwoko has not only brought pride to the Anioma people but has also elevated Anioma to national recognition through purposeful and visible representation.

themoemntng reports that representatives of various town unions, including the women’s wing, also took turns to commend the lawmaker for his generosity and consistent engagement with his people, and pledged their continued support.

NAN also reports that no fewer than 600 bags of rice was distributed to the constituents.
