The Christian Legislators Fellowship of the National Assembly announces the commissioning of the National Assembly Chapel, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 1st March 2026 at 2:00 PM within the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
This landmark occasion marks the fulfilment of a longstanding aspiration of the Christian community within the National Assembly to establish a dedicated space for worship, spiritual reflection, and fellowship within the legislative environment. The Chapel stands as a testament to collective resolve, voluntary sacrifice, principled stewardship, and enduring faith across successive Assemblies.
The project was funded entirely through voluntary contributions by serving Members of the National Assembly and their predecessors from as far back as the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th Assemblies, as well as well-meaning stakeholders and staff of the National Assembly. The facility was delivered without recourse to public funds, reflecting a shared commitment to a unifying spiritual vision sustained across generations of parliamentarians.
The Chapel will serve as a solemn sanctuary for prayer and contemplation, contributing to the moral and spiritual wellbeing of legislators and staff, and reinforcing the ethical values of service, integrity, and accountability that underpin parliamentary responsibility.
