This will help to maintain communication, intensify mediation efforts and build consensus among the concerns.

Mao made the remarks while responding to questions about heightened regional tensions after reported strikes against Iran by the U.S. and Israel.

She announced that Zhai Jun, the Chinese Government’s special envoy on the Middle East issue, would travel to the region in the near future to promote dialogue and support efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation.

According to the spokesperson, China remains committed to engaging with all sides to encourage restraint and diplomatic solutions as part of broader international efforts to stabilise the region.
