Ghana international, Antoine Semenyo has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for February after an impressive run of form with Manchester City.
Antoine Semenyo produced three goals and one assist across five league matches during the month, helping City maintain a strong push in the title race. The champions also stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches in the league during that period.
Semenyo said the recognition marked a special moment early in his City career.
“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month award so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget,” he said.
“It’s been such an amazing start to life at this club. I am learning so much every day and I honestly feel I am already a better player.
“I have been made to feel welcome from day one, which means I have been able to stay focused on the pitch and do my best.
“My focus now is on continuing to improve and helping City to achieve the best possible results. We have so much to play for and I am really excited about this final period of the season.”
Semenyo opened his February account with a clinical left-footed finish in City’s 2-2 draw away to Tottenham Hotspur. He then delivered a goal and an assist in a commanding 3-0 win over Fulham.
He capped the month with a poacher’s finish that secured a narrow win against Leeds United.
The forward has now scored 15 league goals this season. Only team-mate Erling Haaland with 22 and Igor Thiago of Brentford with 18 have scored more in the competition.
Semenyo becomes the second Manchester City player to win the monthly award this season after Haaland claimed it in September.
