A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Tuesday, ordered the remand at the correctional centre, of a 30-year-old man, who pleaded guilty to charges bordering on stealing.
The defendant, Isaac Thosu was brought to court by the police, on a two -count charge of stealing generators valued at N300,000, and causing a breach of peace
The Magistrate, Mr Nurudeen Layeni, ordered his remand at the Nigerian Custodial Centre in Badagry, and adjourned the case until May 15, for a review of fact and sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Dec.29, 2025, at about 8.30 p.m. at No 12, New layout, Ilogbo-Eremi, Badagry, Lagos.
Ekpo alleged that the defendant stole one big Elemas Generator and one tiger generator belonging to a complainant one Mr Bolaji Bankole.
Both generators are valued at N300,000.
The prosecutor also alleged that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by acting in an unruly manner, adding that he was consequently arrested. .
The offences contravene the provisions of Section 168 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” he said.
The court has fixed May 15 for a review of facts.
