A Lagos-based Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Carex International Limited, Adelana Olamilekan, has been accused of orchestrating the arrest and improvement of a former employee of the company, Samson Adetunji, who demanded payment of several months of his unpaid salaries.
A source familiar with the matter told SaharaReporters on Monday, March 23, that Adetunji, was employed by Zenith Carex International Limited in July 2025 as a logistics officer (operation officer) and assigned a company vehicle to supervise dispatch riders.
However, the sources said that the company failed to pay its workers’ salaries consistently, including that of Adetunji, leaving many employees stranded.
“By October 2025, several employees had stopped working due to unpaid wages,” the source said.
According to the source, “Samson Adetunji informed the company he could no longer afford transportation and stayed off duty while retaining the company vehicle as leverage for his unpaid salary.
“Despite multiple assurances, the company allegedly failed to pay him.”
In January 2026, a source told SaharaReporters that operatives from the Zone 2 Police Command arrested Adetunji on allegations of theft, with his guarantors also drawn into the matter.
“Although he was granted bail, the company retrieved the vehicle without paying his outstanding salary,” the source added.
The situation escalated when the CEO accused the former employee of damaging the vehicle and demanded N5 million for repairs.
“The CEO further accused him of damaging the vehicle and demanded N5 million for repairs.”
In what sources described as a controversial twist, Adetunji was later invited to the police station under the pretext of resolving the dispute.
However, upon arrival, he was reportedly taken before a magistrate court in Yaba, charged with theft, and remanded in custody.
