Barely two weeks after Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh became a national hero for exposing ₦1.15 trillion in undisbursed capital funds and forcing the removal of the Minister of State for Finance by President Tinubu, the Abia lawmaker has been spotted driving into the National Assembly in a brand new Xpeng electric vehicle reportedly worth over N160 million.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows “Onyeocha na Aba” cruising into the Assembly complex in the sleek luxury EV—just days after he made headlines for declaring “misappropriation of funds is a crime.”

Nigerians are asking the same question he asked the Finance Minister:

Where did the money come from?

The Xpeng is not an ordinary vehicle. It’s a luxury electric SUV—a statement of status and wealth.

For a man who built his brand on being a “champion of the common man” fighting for the nation’s neglected projects, the optics are disastrous.
