The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday night elected a new set of national executives during its National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja.
At the centre of the new leadership structure is Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who emerged as the National Chairman of the ruling party.
Yilwatda will be assisted by two Deputy National Chairmen.
They are Ali Bukar Dalori, who will represent the North, and Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, who will serve as Deputy National Chairman (South).
Former Senate spokesperson, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, was elected as the National Secretary of the party.
He will work alongside Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana, who emerged as the Deputy National Secretary.
Other officials elected at the convention include Murtala Aliyu Kankia as National Legal Adviser, Uguru Mathew Ofoke as National Treasurer, and Ambassador Haruna Ginsau as National Financial Secretary.
Also elected during the convention were Muhammad Sulaiman Argungu as National Organising Secretary and Donatus Enyinnah Nwankpa as National Welfare Secretary.
Felix Morka retained the position of National Publicity Secretary, while Senator Abubakar Maikafi was elected as National Auditor.
In other positions filled at the convention, Dr Mary A. Idele emerged as the National Women Leader, while Dayo Isreal was elected as the National Youth Leader.
The position of National Leader for Persons with Disabilities went to Aare Durotolu Oyebode Bankole.
Several deputy national officers also emerged during the convention.
They include Hammam Adamu Ali Kumo as Deputy National Financial Secretary, Barrister Emeka Okafor as Deputy National Organising Secretary, and Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim as Deputy National Women Leader.
Others are Hon. Meseko Durosinmi Josiah as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Dr Christopher Michael Akpan as Deputy National Welfare Secretary, Mr Olugbenga Olayemi as Deputy National Auditor, Barrister Ibrahim Salawu as Deputy National Legal Adviser, Engr. Ben Akak as Deputy National Treasurer, and Jamaludeen Kabiru as Deputy National Youth Leader.
The convention also produced National Ex-officio members representing the six geopolitical zones.
They include Dr Opawoye Oluwatoyin Bunmi (North Central), Adamu Jallah (North East), Kano Muhammed Jamu Yusuf (North West), Hon. Ikechukwu Umeh (South East), Mr Francis Kolokolo (South South), and Hon Bunmi Orinowo (South West).
